One of the highlights of the programme is the community day that is held for the men. On this day they are able to receive visits from their family or friends from 10:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon (a normal visit would be two hours long) The prison kitchen provides a fantastic meal that everyone enjoys (prisoners, their families and prison staff). The whole atmosphere is relaxed and friendly which makes it possible for the men to enjoy quality time with their families in a stress free environment. For the prisoners who do not have family, or if their family is unable to visit they are also able to enjoy the day as volunteers come along to spend time with  them.

I would like to thank Kainos and everyone that made possible the family day.

I have been in prison for over 16 months and today is the best day I ever had in all this time.  My son was born while I was in prison so I never had enough time with him and my other children.  Today give me the chance to share a very good time with them and for us to get to know each other better.  It also give me the opportunity to be with my wife and show her how much I do love her and miss her.

I do have tears in my eyes at this present time, you have made so happy today and God bless for that and for everything that you teach me at Kainos.

Coming to this Community was the best possible thing that has happened in my life.
