Thank you for your interest in KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY.
Volunteers are central to a great deal of KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY’s work. KAINOS is a Christian charity working for change in offenders, whether or not they have a faith. To succeed with full and meaningful resettlement of offenders our work needs the ongoing active support from a team of volunteers who will engage with and support graduates of our Challenge to Change Programme, details of which you will learn about during your training. There are a number of stages to becoming a KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteer:


· completion of the application form on our webpage:
· interview
· Criminal Records Bureau check
· training (8 hrs, which can be flexible eg broken into 2/3 sessions)
· post-
KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteers receive:
· support and supervision
· travel expenses
· additional training
As a KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteer you will be supporting vitally important work
that ensures our graduates (whom we regard very much as ex-
Clients' needs vary considerably but as a volunteer you may be expected to help with:
· developing learned skills
· appointments e.g. probation interviews
· preparing for job interviews
· assisting with housing
· supervising mentoring
· affirming progress
· signposting to organisations including local churches
Please be aware that a commitment by volunteers of at least one year is required.
