Thank you for your interest in KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY.

Volunteers are central to a great deal of KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY’s work. KAINOS is a Christian charity working for change in offenders, whether or not they have a faith. To succeed with full and meaningful resettlement of offenders our work needs the ongoing active support from a team of volunteers who will engage with and support graduates of our Challenge to Change Programme, details of which you will learn about during your training. There are a number of stages to becoming a KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteer:

News from around the prisons

· completion of the application form on our webpage:

· interview

· Criminal Records Bureau check

· training (8 hrs, which can be flexible eg broken into 2/3 sessions)

· post-course interview

KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteers receive:

· support and supervision

· travel expenses

· additional training

As a KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY volunteer you will be supporting vitally important work that ensures our graduates (whom we regard very much as ex-offenders) are fully rehabilitated in their community.

Clients' needs vary considerably but as a volunteer you may be expected to help with:

· developing learned skills

· appointments e.g. probation interviews

· preparing for job interviews

· assisting with housing

· supervising mentoring

· affirming progress

· signposting to organisations including local churches

Please be aware that a commitment by volunteers of at least one year is required.

KAINOS IN THE COMMUNITY offers incredibly rewarding vocational work and we hope you fill in an application and join the team. Thanks again for your interest.
