2005 has been a momentous year for Kainos; starting with a full business review to determine the way ahead for the next three years.

Being granted PSO 4350 accreditation was an incredible achievement and we would like to thank the South West Area office for their support during this process.

However we are not resting on our laurels and will over the next 18 months be working towards achieving accreditation as an offending behaviour programme under the criteria set out by the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel (CSAP).

Achievements
To capture the achievements of our Challenge to Change programme is not an easy task. The last twelve months has seen 153 men complete the programme. The level of adjudications or breaches of discipline on Kainos wings is only 2% whilst the average across the prisons is 16%. This is a strong testimony to the men’s decision to embrace the ethos of the programme and our staff’s commitment to supporting them through this process.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow trustees and all the staff for their dedication and commitment over the last year. Thank you too to the organisations and individuals who have supported the Trust, especially the ongoing support from Andrews Charitable Trust to fund us through the three year step change process.

Finally a very special and heartfelt thanks to our volunteers who give up to visit and befriend the men on our wings each week.
