Kainos celebrated our tenth anniversary in May 2009

with news that we have received full accreditation from the Correctional Services Accreditation Panel (CSAP) on 30th April 2009.

Kainos staff were jubilant with the news. This accreditation arrived after many months work and years of operating our Programme in English prisons.

Kainos Community commenced in 1999 in three prisons in the UK and had reasonable results in reducing reoffending and has since built on these early beginnings creating a hybrid Therapeutic Community with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Recent results have since proved that the Kainos Community Challenge to Change Programme is effective reducing recidivism.

Kainos Community is one of only two outside interventions that have achieved accreditation in Her Majesties Prisons.  

The accreditation and our success in tendering for the Verne prison in Portland is a real vote of confidence by the Prison Service in recognition of our work and programme.
